How can I make this short part of my book flow better?

it was not that good you dont want to start off like the stair took up most the room you want detail and how did the room look like how did the bed look like what was there. I also you put the door open ''big surpise'' you need to let them find that out put details to show that dont tell that. Then make the story exciteing. You said good thing but you want to put it as you are puting it in a movie.
